The awards season for 2013 began last night at the 39th Annual People’s Choice Awards. Besides lots of entertainment, the night also produced plenty of fashion do’s and don’ts on the red carpet.
What’s the best way to prove to the world that you’re perfectly fine after a recent break-up? Looking like a bombshell on the red carpet at public event! Taylor Swift may have been Harry-less at last nights award show but we’re sure she had men swooning over her elegant look. T-Swift wore a floor length white Ralph Lauren gown with a plunging neckline. The 23-year-old country star paired the sophisticated dress with large pale blue earrings, bronzed smokey eye makeup and a low bun hairdo.
The events host, Kaley Cuoco, arrived on the red carpet in a pale pink Christian Siriano dress paired with gold Guiseppe Zanotti heels. The Big Bang Theory actress finished off her cute and feminine look with light waves in a half up-do.
2013 has barely begun and Jennifer Lawrence is already set out to have an important year. The young star has recently started filming the second installation of Hunger Games and has also been nominated for an academy award for her role in Silver Linings Playbook. On top of all that she managed to look beautiful last night in a long sleeved black shimmering Valentino couture dress and Nicholas Kirkwood heels. Cartier earrings and a chic updo completed the look.
Lea Michele opted for a short sleeved pink Elie Saab dress. Glee’s leading star kept the rest of her look simple with matching pink strappy heels and a braided updo.
Emma Watson wore the most playful outfit of the night. The actress chose a multi-colored Peter Pilotto creation. The dress donned an interesting layout featuring several cut outs and graphics. A bright red lip and black strappy heels played up the actresses’ ensemble.
Olivia Munn’s black and white dress was a bit too much for our liking. The designs on the top half clash with the busy detailing of the skirt portion of the Carolina Hererra outfit. The hair down and basic black pumps are the wrong additions, bringing down the outfit even more.
Katie Cassidy produced another fashion mishap with her black embellished jumpsuit. The sparkling suit was both too baggy and overwhelming for her petite frame.
Paris Hilton made an appearance at the People’s Choice Awards and we wish she changed her outfit before heading out wearing the vibrant and busy dress with bright blue pumps to the event.
Dancing with the Stars Karina Smirnoff was overpowered in a black and gold embellished gown. The frock is not flattering at all. Even a costume from the hit dancing show would look better on the red carpet than this creation.
Actress Carrie Ann Moss has unfortunately made our worst dressed list for the awards night. Wearing a black dress that could have easily worked well on her frame, the accessories are what ruined the entire look. The large pearl necklace and long black boots were too much for the simple black strapless dress.
Which look do you think was the best/worst of the night?
