Chanel Bends Rule For Their New Underage Model: Ondria Hardin

Word on the street is Chanel might just be bending a few rules this upcoming spring season…

Chanel’s spring 2013 campaign will feature two faces, one of which you should be familiar with, Stella Tennant (current face of Chanel A/W 2012 campaign), and a new face you might have seen or heard of: Ondria Hardin.

15-year-old American model Ondria Hardin, will be featured in Chanel’s spring 2013 collection, despite all of the controversial attention she had brought onto the topic of underage modelling.

With the new “healthy initiative” brought in place by the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers in America), which requires all models to be 16 -years or older to walk in fashion runway shows, this young model is in for some serious fashion buzz.

But that didn’t stop Hardin (who was discovered at age 13 and currently stands at 5 foot 10).  This young beauty has walked for some of fashion’s biggest names including Marc JacobsMiu Miu, Prada, Gucci, and Valentino.

Hardin who has already developed quite the outstanding portfolio, was casted by the one and only Karl Lagerfeld who made this statement to WWD.  “She doesn’t look 15…She looks 18 or 19.” Unclear if the casting was made without knowledge of her age, this controversial campaign will only speak for itself in the upcoming months.
