The color black and was trending at this year’s Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) Art + Film Gala held in LA. Even though the star studded event was held to commemorate Ed Ruscha and Stanley Kubrick it was the simplistic and daring fashion statements that will be the center of discussion.
Not only was black the preferred color of the night, but designs by Gucci, also the host of the night, were frequent re-occurrences as well. Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin, Minka Kelly and Amber Heard all opted for dark creations by the Italian designer. Although they were all similar shadees, each individual creation was vastly different and equally gorgeous. Jennifer Morrison strayed from the rest by wearing an interesting pantsuit that featured a funky cut-out pattern. Her Once Upon A Time co-star Ginnifer Goodwin opted for a more detailed dress that included an intricately detailed collar, sheer sleeves, plunging slit and a feathered skirt all in one. Minka Kelly looked classy in a halter neck gown with a floral bodice design. Her Gucci jewels looked stunning among her glowing complexion and with her hair pinned back. Amber Heard looked stunning in a short black dress with a beautifully beaded black and gold neckline. Not to overwhelm the rest of her look, she paired the dress with an up-do, Gucci ‘Lisbeth’ heels and a bright red-orange lip.
Maintaining the Gucci trend were Florence Welch, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Evan Rachel Wood. The trio however chose bright colors for the dressy event. Florence Welch was very elegant in a rich cobalt blue gown with a v-neckline, jeweled waistline and flowing sheer sleeves. The singer finished off her look with a braided up-do. Rosie Huntington-Whitely was a gorgeous vision of mint green. The Spring 2013 Gucci gown was topped off with a ruffled collar and a very revealing slit on the side. Evan Rachel Wood sparkled in a gold dress with a sheer yoke and nude belt which accentuated her petite frame. Her chic hairdo was the perfect addition.
She may not have gotten the Gucci dress-code memo but Jennifer Aniston also wore a risky black gown to the event. The Hollywood star and her fiancée made a gorgeous pair, both wearing Tom Ford.
