Hold onto your knickers girls. Girl power is back in full force as the the Spice Girls reunite today for the first time since the ‘Return of the Spice Girls‘ tour in 2008. The 90s pop group announced the details of a musical called “Viva Forever” and will be be based on their songs and will tell the story of fame and female friendship.
Posh, Baby, Sporty, Ginger and Scary were all present at the press conference at the St Pancras Hotel in London which was also the location for their first music video ‘Wannabe‘. The girls say they were delighted with the show, which is produced by Judy Craymer, the woman behind the famous ABBA musical “Mamma Mia.”
“It’s better than we could ever have imagined,” said Melanie “Sporty Spice” Chisholm of the show, written by comedian Jennifer Saunders, who co-created TV sitcom “Absolutely Fabulous” and had a cameo appearance in the Spice World movie.
“They sing it better than us,” added Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown.
“Viva Forever” previews from Nov 27 and opens Dec. 11 at London’s Piccadilly Theatre.
