Ruby Rose does not like Kanye West’s new album.
Kanye is making headlines for his controversial lyrics about Taylor Swift on the song “Famous.”
He wrote, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous.”
Ruby defended the “Bad Blood” singer. She tweeted “Too many lines crossed. If I put myself in the shoes of the women he has hurt recently. Victims of Bill Cosby, The Slut shaming, Amber And now my dear friend Taylor... Right before another huge moment for her.. Can I still support him and call myself a feminist? A friend? No.”
The huge moment the Orange is the New Black actress is referring to is the 2016 Grammy Awards on Monday (Feb.15). Taylor is nominated for seven awards, including Best Album of the Year for 1989.
According to TMZ, they reported Kanye had informed Taylor of the controversial lyrics prior to recording and received her blessing, but the singer’s rep denies this happened.
“Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ”Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message,” her rep told E! News. “Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous.'”
Yikes! Hope Kanye and Taylor can work things out before the Grammy Awards.
