Who Will Be Casted In 50 Shades Of Grey?

Tons of Hollywood celebrities have read E.L. James‘ erotica novel 50 Shades of Grey, but Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively isn’t following the trend.

Celebuzz chatted with the actress on Friday for her upcoming film Savagesco-starring Taylor Kitsch. Not only has Blake not read the book, but she has never even heard about it!

“I haven’t. What’s that?” said Lively when asked if 50 Shades of Grey was on her reading list.

Although Blake has no connection with the novel, she is pleased to hear her fans rooting for her to be casted as Kate Kavanuagh, the best friend of protagonist Anastasia Steele.

“How sweet,” Lively said after hearing about her fans’ campaign. “I don’t know about it but thank you!”

In the book, Kate is described as “gorgeous, strawberry blonde hair, green eyes.” I think it’s a good match!

Blake may have some company on set as well! Pretty Little Liar’s star, Ashley Benson, wants to play the lead in the film. Ashley, who plays Hanna Marin in the hit show, is ready to take on a much sexier role with 50 Shades of Grey.

“I’ve read every book. I want to play Anastasia,” Ashley told us exclusively while promoting the upcoming season of PLL (which we have tons on later).

She’s dead set on getting the part. When Celebuzz told her that fans have been rooting for her to be cast as Kate, Anastasia’s best friend, she responded:

“Kate is awesome. I like all the characters but Anastasia? I love her so much!”

Ashley has some competition though as co-star Lucy Hale also has her mind set on the role.

Universal Pictures has the rights to E.L. James‘ steamy trilogy and we’ll keep you posted on it when we hear more.

Blake Lively can next be seen in director Oliver Stone‘s Savages. She’ll play a woman caught in a love triangle between two marijuana growers. The film his theaters July 6.

Who do you think will make the best Anastasia for Fifty Shades of Grey?
