New American Idol judge and female chart topper Nicki Minaj began filming a documentary series for the E! network earlier this week. Insiders are convinced the female rapper will make for great viewing.
One told the Daily Mirror: “Nicki’s life on camera will blow away all other previous reality stars.”
Nicki teased her possible reality-show dreams in an interview with celebrity blogger Perez Hilton. “That I’m going to keep a secret for now,” she said, “I thought I’d never do something like that, not saying I am still. I’m still considering. But, I will say that I find the more people see, is the more they understand, and then it’s the more they like you. If you only have such one-dimensional things to go off of like rumors, then you kind of never get to know the artist. When you pull them in your world, they see you as a real person. I’m not running away from it anymore.”
In the meantime Nicki is looking forward to being a judge on the latest season of American Idol. She said: “This is such a credible brand. It’s really serious, it’s real deal it’s not anything else other than really looking for talent. If I can be a part of that I’m really down for it.”
Nicki says she has always been a fan of the program – which is now entering its 12th season – and remembers when Jordin Sparks won the sixth series. She said: “I remember watching ‘American Idol’ in the first season and feeling inspired. I spoke to Jordin Sparks the other day and here she is starring in a movie [‘Sparkle’] and I said to her, ‘I remember watching you and picking up my phone.’ I didn’t vote for her because my brother liked the other guy, but I told her that, ‘You know you’re a part of history, kind of. Because I remember calling and seeing your face and being inspired and hearing your story.’ “
