Canada’s biggest award show was party rocking with LMFAO co-hosting the annual 2012 Much Music Video Awards. The lively, electropop group kicked off the show performing their hits, ‘Party Rock‘, ‘Champagne Showers‘, ‘Sorry For Party Rocking‘ and ‘Sexy and I know It‘. The duo wore their notorious, bright animal print clothes, sprayed champagne over the crowd, and stripped off into their speedos wowing all the fans.
Keeping the party going, British Columbia native, Carly Rae Jepson performed immediately after singing her smash hit, ‘Call Me Maybe‘. Canada’s sweetheart was a big winner of the night receiving Video of the Year, MuchMusic.com Most Watched Video, and UR FAVE Video of the Year awards.
Another big winner was Canada’s golden boy, Justin Bieber who won International Video of the Year by a Canadian as well as the UR FAVE Artist Award and ended the night performing his hit single ‘Boyfriend’ and ‘Around the World‘ from his new album Believe. The Biebs gave a shout to his home country during his performance saying,
“MMVAs, you know I’ve been all around the world and now I am finally home.”
Justin’s girlfriend Selena Gomez was also in attendance as well as Lucy Hale, Glee hotties Darren Criss and Chord Overstreet, Lights, Cody Simpson, Perez Hilton, Down With Webster, Shenae Grimes, Jesse Metcalfe with outstanding performances by Marianas Trench, Hedley, Ed Sheeran, Flo Rida, Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry.
More winners were The Sheepdogs who won MuchLOUD Rock Video of the Year, Drake, who took the MuchVIBE Hip-Hop Video of the Year; Katy Perry, for International Video of the Year and UR FAVE International Artist; City and Colour, for the MuchFACT Indie Video of the Year; and Marc Andre Debruyne who won Director of the Year for his work on ‘Hit Me Up‘ by Danny Fernandes, featuring Josh Ramsay of Marianas Trench and Belly.
