Mischa Barton is reportedly being sued for failing to complete a film project because she was too busy partying in Europe.
According to TMZ, a lawsuit has been filed by the producers of a film called Promoted, which claims that Mischa failed to fulfill her part in the film and caused them thousands of dollars in losses.
The producers have reportedly claimed that Mischa was unreachable when the film was meant to begin production in early March.
On March 3 … producers got an email from Mischa’s mom, saying, “Mischa is still in Europe and won’t be available until the 20th of this month.”
The producers — furious — went on Mischa’s social media accounts to find she was actually partying in Europe … on vacation and “enjoying tourist excursions with friends.”
TMZ states that the actress is now ‘being sued for the $20,000 advance she got, $200,000 in marketing expenses, and $100,000 which they say they will lose because Mischa’s not attached anymore.’
Mischa hasn’t had much success in the acting world after her big break in The O.C. Though the actress admits, she almost didn’t take the role of Marissa Cooper.
“Something I came so close to not doing. I had a really great thing with film. People say be grateful for what you have but it certainly not the kind of thing I was expecting it to be.” said Mischa.
We hope she gets her act together. We miss you Mischa!
