It was a close call but Amanda Seyfried was selected as this month’s Cover Girl.
Remember the first time you saw Amanda as Karen Smith in Mean Girls? She was the extremely dumb blonde who makes out with her cousin and believes she can predict the weather because of her psychic ability, which we later find out are her breasts. Who would of guessed that girl would turn into one of Hollywood’s hottest celebrities nine years later?
Before Mean Girls, Amanda began like many other actors on a soap opera. She was on As the World Turns as well as All My Children.
Over the past few years this talented star has been proving she can do it all with a variety of roles. In 2008 she starred alongside another beloved A-list actress, Meryl Streep in Mamma Mia.
In 2009-2010 she had three films come out that ranged from romance to thriller. She starred in a Nicolas Spark inspired film, Dear John, along with Channing Tatum where we got a glimpse of her girl next door simplicity and charm. Next came Letters to Juliet which was a sappy rom-com based on the usual scenario of two people disliking each other at the beginning only to later find out they’re actually meant for each other.
Lastly she surprised us with the film Chloe in which she appears to play a psychotic escort.
A year later, Amanda took on the lead role of Little Red Riding Hood in the dark and medieval adaptation, Red Riding Hood.
Was anyone aware that she also acted in a movie called In Time with Justin Timberlake that same year? Neither did we! That’s probably because we could hardly recognize her. This was the first film where she leaves behind her natural (and beautiful) blonde hair and opts for a short red wig. We’re glad to say it was only for the duration of the film.
Most recently, Amanda Seyfried landed her dream role as Cosette in the 2012 musical Les Miserables, the newest take on the classic novel.
This low key gal is usually pictured walking her dogs but it’s on the red carpet where she fully embodies the A-list actress she’s become.
Who will be our spring’s first cover girl? Let us know who you think deserves the title!
