This has not been a good week to be a washed up child star. Lindsay Lohan was arrested early this morning after leaving the scene of an alleged car accident. While trying to park her car outside of the Dream Hotel in downtown New York City, Lindsay’s vehicle apparently struck a pedestrian who was crossing in front of her car. New survellience footage of the incident shows Lohan driving up to the hotel at an extremely slow pace, and the pedestrian crossing in front of her. The car gets very close to the victim but it is unclear if the two ever made contact. The pedestrian claims to have been swiped at his knees.
The security camera caught the entire incident, which shows the alleged victim sprinting after her car; once he noticed it was Lindsay (based on the crowd forming around her) he got close to the car but never confronted her. Once Lindsay Lohan entered the club, the victim called 911. After a few moments Lindsay exited the club, drove off, only to return a few minutes later and re-enter the club. Once she left the club for good, around 2:30 am, officers arrested her immediately.
According to TMZ:
Lindsay was taken to the station, fingerprinted, photographed and booked for leaving the scene of an accident — a misdemeanor — and then released with a desk appearance ticket
This arrest comes just after Lindsay had publicly slammed Amanda Bynes for her recent run ins with the law, tweeting:
“Why did I get put in jail and a nickelodeon star has had NO punishment(s) so far?”
Whatever her criticisms of Ms. Bynes, it does not change the fact that this incident could be seen as a violation of Lohan’s probation for her previous jewelry theft case. If the judge of that case is so inclined, she could force Lindsay back into court for further punishment.
