Not only can the British beauty act, but Emma Watson also showed off her vocal chops on The Perks of Being a Wallflower set. The 22-year-old teamed up with her castmates between takes – including Logan Lerman – to start a group called Octopus Jam.
Emma said, “Throughout the movie we all made music together. Our band was called Octopus Jam. I sing and Logan Lerman is a classical composer, and he created a piece for me. Most nights we would sit and play music, so that was fun.”
Emma – who has been famous since she was 10 after starring in the Harry Potter movies – also spoke about how she used to feel isolated when she was growing up because she felt different from her peers. She is quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying:,“It made me aware my life has been very different and unusual, my life has almost been done backwards. There are certain parts of my development that are happening at certain times and in different orders and at times that felt lonely. But, overall, I feel privileged to have had so many different experiences.”
Recently, Emma admitted on The Jonathan Ross Show that she found playing another character daunting.
She explained, “I didn’t know if I believed in myself yet as an actress, outside the role of Hermione, which I knew I could do, and I did for a long time. I didn’t know if I had other people in me or not. I did doubt myself a little bit. I think I’d just played one person, who in many ways was similar to my own personality, and I played her for ten years and I got so comfortable doing that, that the idea of coming out and playing somebody else was terrifying.”
