Chris Brown just can’t catch a break! Not that he deserves one that is. 2013 is just not Chris’ year as his problems keep piling up. Already this year he’s gotten into a nasty fight with Frank Ocean, violated his probation, and been accused of forging community service hours by the DA prosecuting his case. Of course Rihanna has been right by his side through every debacle, even showing up with him to his court date. Now he can add one more charge to his ever growing list of misdemeanors and horrid behavior: crashing his car into a defenseless wall.
Yesterday, just one day before the Grammy‘s (his track record with this event is less than desirable), Chris totaled his car after colliding with a wall. Chris and his people claim the accident was the fault of the paparazzi who were supposedly chasing the singer before the crash. Chris’ rep explains:
“Chris Brown was in a car accident this afternoon after being ruthlessly pursued by paparazzi. He was in his vehicle by himself headed to the Debbie Allen Dance Academy for a Symphonic Love Foundation event when two vehicles cut him off. The occupants jumped out, with cameras, and agressively approached his vehicle. In an effort to remove himself from the situation, he began to back down an alley at which point his was cut off by two additional vehicles. Chris’ vehicle was totaled due to this agressive pursuit by the paparazzi. He is okay.”
Of course the paparazzi are never ones to take it lying down and have now retaliated claiming they had nothing to do with the crash, but merely showed up afterwards to document. The owner of the agency in question, Chris Doherty, gave a statement:
“[We] had nothing to do with Chris Brown crashing. No photographers were following him at the time he crashed … He crashed his car and it’s convenient for him to blame us. He needs to be careful with his defamatory statements.”
That sounds like a threat to us! Chris probably shouldn’t piss off the paparazzi, they may be the only people left who still care about him. Apparently Chris has not heeded our warning as his lawyers have gone forward with pressing charges against the paparazzi for causing the accident. We’re no legal experts, but we imagine the courts are tired of all this Chris Brown hubbabaloo and would want nothing to do with the case. We’ll have to wait and see if the incident affects Brown’s plans to attend the Grammy‘s and hope that he doesn’t make it this year.
