HOLD THE PHONE! After dating for nearly a year, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have married at the Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, the very place where pretty much of everybody’s favorite weepy The Notebook was filmed. Even though that location wasn’t very good luck for the other Ryan (Gosling) and his costar Rachel McAdams, hopefully it will hold good tidings for the newlyweds.
The secret nuptials were held this past Sunday, September 9th, amongst an intimate group of friends and family. According to Martha Stewart Weddings, the bride and her bridesmaids wore custom Marchesa gowns “designed by Blake’s friends, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, with shoes created for the celebration by Christian Louboutin.” While the groom and his groomsmen wore Burberry suits. The reception was carnival themed (appropriate for Reynolds’ child-bride, Lively is 25 and Reynolds is 35) and good friend Florence Welch (of Florence and the Machine) performed three songs.
The couple met while filming The Green Lantern in 2011, at the time Lively had been casually dating Leonardo DiCaprio (thank god she dodged that bullet) and Reynolds was recovering from his divorce from Scarlett Johansson. No word yet from ScarJo on her thoughts of her ex’s new marriage, however Lively’s ex, Gossip Girl costar Penn Badgely, had nothing but sweet words for the couple sharing to People,
“I actually didn’t know until last night, but I think it’s fantastic, I couldn’t be happier for her.”
I’m so sure Penn, I’m so sure.
