Did we travel back in time to 1997?
It sure feels that way if these rumours of the Backstreet Boys and The Spice Girls reuniting again are true.
“We are actually in early talks about maybe doing a world tour together with the Spice Girls,” BSB star Brian Littrell allegedly told British Newspaper, The Sun.
While we haven’t heard much from our favorite 90s girl band, Backstreet Boys will be on their In A World Like This tour this summer across the United States that features Avril Lavigne as a guest performer.
If the biggest 90s bands did tour together, tickets would be sold out instantly. The power and effect these bands have had on 90s kids is tremendous. We all remember the lyrics to our favourite top-charters and synchronized dance moves.
If the tour did happen, Mel B aka Scary Spice would be all for it. In Sept. 2013, she went on Ellen and revealed she wanted them to head back on tour.
“I’d love to,” she told Ellen DeGeneres. “I’m gonna make it happen one day. I’m hoping in the next year or two, when everybody’s cleared their diary a little bit.”
And while Mel B may be able to get Sporty, Baby and Ginger on board, Victoria Beckham may be a harder get: last year, she said her days with the Spice Girls were unequivocally behind her.
“I realized it was finished for good in 2008, when we reformed for our reunion tour,” Victoria told Vogue Paris. “It should have been the best moment of my life, but I just wanted to be elsewhere. It wasn’t a lack of respect for the girls or the audience, but the passion just wasn’t there.”
With Posh or without, this sounds like the most amazing and epic idea ever!
