High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale has accepted boyfriend, Chris French’s marriage proposal.
“Best night of my life. We’re on top of the world,” Ashley tweeted after Chris popped the question from the 103rd floor of the Empire State Building on Aug, 8.
“He had been planing on it for awhile. I think she knew it was coming but she is so happy,” a source said about the engagement.
Ahead of Chris’s proposal on Thursday evening, the couple visited Strawberry Fields, a landscaped section in New York City’s Central Park that is dedicated to the memory of Beatles member John Lennon.
The pair left two flowers – a rose and a sunflower – on the memorial mosaic which features the word ‘Imagine’.
Ashley tweeted a picture of the image, captioning the snap ‘the impossible :)’.
This will be Ashley and Christopher’s first marriage.
Ashley started dating the musician after splitting with boyfriend Scott Speer last year.
“She likes those rocker types,” a source previously told Us Weekly. “They have mutual friends and just met through hanging out.”
Chris was previously linked to The Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco.
Ashley will next be seen alongside Nicolas Cage in dramatic movie Left Behind.
In a recent interview about the film, which tells the story of a group of people who remain on Earth following the Rapture, Ashley said, “I’m super-excited to be doing a movie called Left Behind with Nicolas Cage. I play his daughter, and it’s a drama, so it’s completely different from this. I’ve always loved drama and I love comedy, but I think it’s good to switch it up to show your range.”
