Night Routine For Living with Anxiety

Anyone who suffers from an anxiety disorder should recognize the benefits of self-care to reduce stress and angst symptoms. When you get into a daily night-time routine, self-care becomes a habit, which can help reduce feelings of anxiety before you go to sleep. Many people who suffer from anxiety also have complications with being able to fall asleep, so it is important you take the relevant steps that might assist the quality of your sleep.

Meditate

Breathe in, hold for two, breathe out. Breathe in, hold for two and breathe out. Now repeat. Meditation should be included in your daily night routine, as it is an excellent way to declutter your thoughts from the day and to become in control of your breathing. Meditation does not have to involve you sitting down with your legs crossed and your hands pressed together; it could also be in the form of lying down with your eyes closed and listening to the sound of a waterfall or rain pattering against a window.

Try taking five minutes out of your evening and dedicate it to some form of meditation; you may really enjoy it.

Hot Bath

Is there anything better than getting into a nice, hot bath after a long day? Particularly if you have anxiety, taking a soak in the tub is a great way to relax and calm yourself down. CBD infused oils are designed to be used in the bath to help promote calmness if you are experiencing feelings of anxiety. You can buy CBD online here.

No More Screen Time

Scrolling endlessly through social media can trigger anxiety attacks at any time of the day, so it is not a good idea to be glued to your phone just before you go to bed. If you are always tempted to check your phone, or you find yourself reaching for it at any chance you get, put your phone far away from you so that you must physically get up if you want to go on it. It is less compelling to stand up when you are lying down in bed to go and retrieve your phone, as you are already comfortable.

Read or Write in a Diary

End the day in a positive and productive way while you relax at the same time. Many people find it therapeutic to read before they go to bed or write in a diary about the events of their day. Who knows, it might become the part of your nightly routine you most look forward to!

A Good Night’s Sleep

Everyone wants to achieve a healthy sleep life, and a lot of that is down to how many hours of sleep you get per night. By sticking to a nightly routine, you actively work to reduce your stress and feelings of anxiety by dedicating time to a range of things you enjoy.
